HMX Finance provides short term working capital loans globally to small and medium sized commodity traders and commodity producers.
Borrowers receive working capital solution by pledging and assigning their receivables and/or inventory.
Each recurring loan amount is up to $1 million.
Tenor is typically in the range of 30 to 90 days.
Each loan is financing a flow of commodities: Oil & Gas, Metals and Agri goods
The loans are arranged and managed by Hommocks LLC.
Jun Ogasawara
Jun Ogasawara is an accomplished trade finance executive with over 30 years of experience at top-tier international banks in New York, Tokyo, and London. Jun Ogasawara is Founder and CEO of HMX Finance LLC and Hommocks LLC. HMX Finance originates and funds asset-backed trade finance investments, while Hommocks LLC provides trade finance advisory and origination services.
Jun served as Head of Commodity Trade Finance at Societe Generale in New York for 10 years, managing a $700 million portfolio across developed and emerging markets, achieving zero loan defaults, and quadrupling business volume.
Jun’s career also includes leadership roles at Fortis Bank, WestLB Bank, Citibank, and Commerzbank, where he spearheaded structured trade finance, project finance, and export finance transactions for Fortune 1000 clients in industrial, commodity, mining, utility, aviation, and telecom sectors.
Jun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Chuo University, an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and a Bankkaufmann Diploma from the German Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
John Coussa
John Coussa is a seasoned commodity trade finance professional with over 40 years of banking experience in New York. As Chief Investment Officer at Hommocks LLC, John actively originates, arranges, and manages the loan portfolio, leveraging his extensive expertise to drive innovative financing solutions.
At Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in New York, John served as a team leader in structured trade and commodity finance for over 13 years, covering North and South America. He drove revenues exceeding $55 million through upfront fees and interest income, excelling in client acquisition, relationship management, and credit proposal development. His strategic vision strengthened SMBC’s position as a global leader in tailored trade finance solutions.
John began his career at Banque Nationale de Paris in New York, where he completed a rigorous credit training program and served as a marketing officer in middle-market lending. He later joined BHF-Bank Aktiengesellschaft, leading a team of three lending officers and a dedicated middle office, before helping establish HypoVereinsbank’s Commodity Finance lending team.
A graduate of McGill University and Vanier College, John combines a strong credit background with deep operational knowledge to deliver optimal client solutions.
